At Ft Knox Locks, we believe in using our success to help others. That's why we have worked with Mercy Orphanage in Kenya to help make a positive impact in the lives of those living there. One of the owners of Ft Knox Locks has traveled to Kenya to give their time and skills, working on projects that will help fulfill the goals of the orphanage.
We're proud to be more than just a company that sells trailer locks. We want to make a positive difference in the world. By sharing our success with those less fortunate, we believe it can help create a better future for all.
Barbie Odom (one of the owners of Ft. Knox Locks) has had the privileged of visiting with the children and founder of Great Mercy Orphanage in Kenya on several occasions.
There are about 120 resident children at the facility and they supplement their income by accepting paying students from the surrounding community due to their excellent reputation.
These children have so little compared to "US" but they are so full of joy and hope for the future.
Most of the buildings are simple wood frame with sheet metal. They are hoping to start upgrading the buildings to concrete and/or block in the future.
This picture represents the way we are trying to help this orphanage. They wanted to buy some adjacent land to increase their capacity to grown their own food and we helped make that happen.
Although founded by a Christian woman as an application of her Master thesis project, the school welcomes Muslim Somali refugee children from the area to join in their excellent educational program.
The success and blessing Ft. Knox Locks has been to us (Milton & Barbie) has enabled us to pay forward support for this amazing orphanage in Kenya. To date we have been responsible for over $200,000 being responsibly funneled to Great Mercy Orphanage. We want to thank our customers for being a part of passing on a blessing.
